Welcome
I'm Melony and I am a professional, trained and experienced newborn, child and family photographer from Lethbridge, Alberta

quick facts about me!
+ I do not like coffee and I don't have children of my own yet.
I'm asked all the time how I can run a dayhome and work with kids all the time when I have none and without caffeine haha.
+ All the pets I have ever owned, I've either had from birth or rescued and cared for their entire life, including a koi fish of
11 years. I've never given up an animal for any reason.
+ My favorite dessert is warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Yum!
+ I've lived in Lethbridge or Coaldale my whole life.
Boring I know but it makes travelling that much better.
+ I've never been an athletic person, but I've dragon boat raced for over 10 years - pre pandemic of course.
+ I'm a very introverted person other than with my family
and I love the sound of silence.
My passion for photography began many years ago and I joined the professional world of photography in 2010, finding my niche and soft spot for newborns and children in the last 7 years or so. I'm very passionate about working with newborns and young children in my home studio and I feel very strongly about newborn safety. You will find posts on my website, blog and social media about this topic
as it is very important to me.
I have 4 siblings and am the only one who has taken interest in art and photography.
I am a fur mom to Chevy, my chocolate lab and also 2 kitties - Holly and Opry.
My fur kids are my family and my world. I'm a mom away from mom, a teacher
and leader in my dayhome and the kids I care for I consider like family.
Working with children and families is something I enjoy in all areas of my life as well as just being creative, having fun in my work and making people happy.
I put my heart and soul into my photography, it is a huge part of who I am
and what I am about.
Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do!
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
We have the ability to capture every moment of our lives in our hands at any time
This is so great, our world is full of people documenting the best times in their lives.
Everything they see that they enjoy, their kids first thing in the morning being silly.
For most people, it's just a matter of snapping a quick photo to have it but how many times do they go back and look at it? There's always a next and by the end of the day we end up with dozens of new photos but have already forgotten about the first.
These never end up on the walls of homes.
For me, photography is so much more than that.
I don't just take pictures,
I document and share stories of the families in them. I am creating timeless art that will decorate their homes and outlive many generations.
I love seeing families reaction to their images and the excitement for hanging them in their home for their children to see as they grow.
I have the ability to bring so much joy to many people and that brings me the most joy.
